As England’s second largest county, Cumbria offers a diverse geographical and business mix; hosting contrasts of industry and agriculture, coastline and market towns, and urban and rural potential. The area has a range of established commercial sectors such as leading nuclear and specialist manufacturing industries but is also striding forward into new areas such as renewable energy and a flourishing outdoor recreation market. The latter is no doubt fuelled by the breathtaking location of Cumbria and the Lake District offering fells, lakes, national parks and coastal scenery.
