Sports footwear manufacturer, New Balance, has recently celebrated the production of 14 million running shoes at its Cumbria site in Flimby. The company’s firm commitment to manufacturing in the UK, namely in Cumbria, has been rewarded with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise. New Balance values the ‘Made in UK’ symbol and the advantages it creates including increased market share across both Europe and the Far East. The organisation puts its ability to manufacture high quality, handcrafted footwear firmly down to its highly skilled and experienced Cumbria workforce.
