More than 80 productions were shot here from 2005 to 2008; 60% more than targeted. In 2008 University of Cumbria graduates won 22 RTS awards in drama and documentary, winning Best Drama and Runner Up Drama. There is a creative media presence in Cumbria hosting BBC Radio Cumbria (radio and TV facilities), CFM Radio, ITV Border/Tyne Tees, and the CN Media Group.
The emergence of the University of Cumbria means a long-term commitment to becoming a centre for world class education in key subject areas in the creative commercial field can be made.
